Our History

We started 2002 in an industry faced with challenges. The Internet Bubble had recently bursted and the big question on everyones mind was how to be able to charge for content and services on the Internet and whether it was possible or not. We thought it was possible, but only if the quality of the content was right. This ambition required skills and processes to keep away the bad stuff and Besedo was founded based on this very idea; to provide a clean website for our clients and ensure that the best quality of the user generated content was being published.

 

We set out on a journey to create value for our clients by training people and discovering technical solutions to prevent and manage online fraud, abuse and inappropriate content by investing an immense amount of energy into building the processes needed. We soon started working with big brands in online classified, job listings and other industries and have since then grown both in experience, capabilities, size and geography. We won our first international contract in 2004 and became bilingual. We introduced chat hosting and community moderation services in 2005. We opened our first international office in Malaysia in 2007 and our second in Malta 2008.

 

Today we are the market leader but our heritage is clear, better content attracts the most profitable users and the best paying advertisers, which creates higher revenues. User experience has become the number one priority for every online business.
